Iron Fit Endurance Race Weekend!

Iron Fit Endurance Race Weekend

We decided to do a “team race” at the Mighty Hamptons on September 7th.  Myself, Susan Roman, Shayne Lewis, Noah Lam, Deepak Chopra, Christa Dwyer and Jose Hernandez (as part of the relay “Too Fast For You”) all headed to Sag Harbor for the race.  We had several other Iron Fit Endurance athletes racing at other races as well:  John Burgess headed to the Aqua Bike National Championships in Sandusky, Ohio; Peter Morandi and his wife headed to Washington D.C. for the Nations Triathlon and Jeanette Hampel raced the Toughman Half Ironman.

I hadn’t raced at the Mighty Hamptons since 2006, 8 years, ago and I don’t know why I waited so long to come back!  It’s a fantastic race and we all had a great day racing and hanging on the beach at Sag Harbor on a beautiful day!  Of the 7 of us who raced, 5 won awards and 5 had PR’s!!  Jose was in a relay, so he was unable to PR, but he did have a smoking fast bike split, and I did not PR, but still had a fun race!

It was amazing to see everyone show up and do so well and I couldn't be prouder!

Below are the results:

In the other races, Peter Morandi (Pictured above) and his wife, Donna had great races in D.C., despite the fact that the swim was cancelled due to poor water quality.  They finished just 2 minutes apart!!  (Picture of Peter and Donna below):

John Burgess, who headed to Nationals, had a great day racing for the first time in a big venue!  John went up against the best and placed 9th in his Age Group! Congrats to John on a great season.  I look forward to next year!!!!

Jeanette Hampel had a great race in Toughman placing 2nd in her Age Group and 9th Overall!  WOW!
